- Weekday rounds from ¥15,000
A Pete Dye course an hour from Tokyo, for the price of a nice dinner. PGM Maria Golf Links is one of Japan's rare genuine links-style layouts: rumpled fairways, pot bunkers, wooden bulkheads and diabolical angles, all rolling toward views of Tokyo Bay. Dye's signature visual intimidation is everywhere — the course looks terrifying from the tee and plays fairer than it looks, exactly as he intended.
Because it is run by PGM, one of Japan's biggest course operators, conditioning is dependable and visitor access is straightforward, with weekday green fees from around ¥15,000. Wind off the bay changes the course completely from day to day, which is precisely what links golf should do. For traveling golfers who have played parkland courses all week, Maria is the perfect change of rhythm.

Visitor FAQ
Is PGM Maria Golf Links really a links course?+
It is links-style — Pete Dye shaped coastal land above Tokyo Bay with the movement, bunkering and wind exposure of a true links. Purists will notice the difference; everyone else will just enjoy one of Japan's most distinctive layouts.
How difficult is the course?+
Dye designs reward smart targets over raw power. Play one tee forward of your usual choice on a first visit, especially if the wind is up.
Can you arrange transport from Tokyo?+
Yes — a private car makes this an easy day trip (about an hour each way). Trains plus taxi work too; we include exact directions with every booking.
