- 18 holes, par 72, 7,017 yards from the championship tees
- Designed by Takeaki Shioda with Brian Jones as supervising architect
- The par-3 8th looks straight at Mt. Fuji across a pond
- A 250-yard, 14-bay range with separate bunker and approach practice
Narusawa Golf Club lies on the north-western side of Mt. Fuji, in Narusawa village. It should not be confused with Forest Narusawa, a separate club nearby under different ownership.
The club credits the design to Takeaki Shioda, with Brian Jones as supervising architect. The course measures 7,017 yards from the championship tees and 6,301 from the regular tees, par 72. The ground moves: there are uphill and downhill tee shots, ponds in play on the long 1st and 18th, holes framed by pine and white birch, and a raised green at the 5th close to the highest point of the property at about 1,105 metres. The view most players remember is the par-3 8th, where Fuji stands directly ahead and, on a still day, shows in the pond.
The practice facilities are better than most in the area: a 250-yard range with fourteen bays, and a free bunker and approach area. There is a restaurant overlooking the course and a pro shop. The club asks visitors to arrive in a jacket or blazer outside July to September, and does not allow T-shirts, jeans or sandals.
We have not yet arranged a round here, and conditions can be restrictive. When we checked Saturday 7 November 2026, the only online plans were with a caddie and for three or more players, at ¥30,150. That figure is an example from October 2026, not a quote; rates and plans change by date.
Getting there
The course is in Narusawa village on the north-western side of Mt. Fuji. By car the nearest interchange is Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway; the club puts the drive from central Tokyo at about ninety minutes. By train, go to Kawaguchiko station (about two hours from Shinjuku via Otsuki) and take a taxi.
Nearest station: Kawaguchiko (Fujikyu Line) — by taxi. We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.
Visitor FAQ
Can overseas visitors play Narusawa Golf Club?+
The club takes visitor bookings through its own system and by telephone, in Japanese, which is the part we handle. We have not yet arranged a round here, so we check with the club, for your date, that it will accept you. That check is part of the booking; if we cannot secure it, our fee is refunded in full.
Can two of us play, or do we need a bigger group?+
It depends on the date. On Saturday 7 November 2026, the only online plans were caddie plans for three or more players. Tell us your group size and date and we will check what the club offers.
Is there a dress code?+
Yes. Outside July to September the club asks you to arrive in a jacket or blazer. T-shirts, jeans and sandals are not allowed, and a collared shirt is required on the course.
Where is the Mt. Fuji view?+
The club singles out the par-3 8th, which faces Fuji directly with a pond in front. As anywhere around the mountain, clear mornings in the colder months are the most reliable.
