Confirmed by telephone: the club declined a visitor booking without a member's introduction. The club's own guide says an introduction is normally required but that bookings are sometimes accepted depending on the date (fujizakura-cc.jp, checked September 2026) — in practice, however, we were turned away. If your dates are flexible we can ask again, but please do not plan around it.

Fujizakura is where the Japan Golf Tour comes to be tested. Host of the annual Fuji Sankei Classic, this championship layout climbs through mature forest on the lower slopes of Mt. Fuji, with fairways kept like carpet and bentgrass greens that run tournament speeds all season. At 7,437 yards from the championship tees, it is one of the longest and most complete examinations of golf in the region.
What makes it special for visitors is the combination of place and pedigree: you are playing a genuine tour venue inside the Fuji Five Lakes resort area, fifteen minutes from Lake Kawaguchi's hotels, with the mountain appearing through the trees as you play. Will I actually see Mt. Fuji during the round?+
The course sits on Fuji's forested lower slopes, so the mountain reveals itself at various points rather than on every hole. Clear mornings in autumn and winter give the best views.
Is Fujizakura too hard for average golfers?+
It is a tour venue, but multiple tee decks make it playable for everyone. Play the regular tees, take the caddie's advice, and enjoy walking a course the pros compete on.
How do I combine this with a Mt. Fuji sightseeing trip?+
Stay at Lake Kawaguchi — the course is 15 minutes away. We can check tee-time availability here and at nearby Asagiri or Fugaku; course acceptance and availability must be confirmed before a reservation can be made. For a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please book transport directly with the provider.
